Important Information for ICCRC Members

RCICs are being subjected to incorrect and misleading information

The Council has become aware of incorrect and misleading information being distributed by a business corporation calling itself “CICC The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Corp.” This corporation is holding itself out on the website and elsewhere as a new self-regulatory organization for Canadian immigration and citizenship consultants created under the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (Canada) (the College Act).

This corporation claims that “the former Council ICCRC will not become the College but only transition its members to the new registered Federal College” and includes statements and documents on its website creating the impression that the Government of Canada and the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship have sanctioned this corporation to become the new regulator under the College Act, and that ICCRC members should apply to join it in order to remain licensed to practice.  These statements are incorrect and misleading to you and the public.

ICCRC is the only national self-regulatory organization charged by the federal government with the regulation of immigration and citizenship consultants and international student immigration advisors. ICCRC is the only organization supported by the federal government to transition into the new College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants pursuant to the College Act. ICCRC is engaged with the federal government in this transition process.  Members are cautioned against engaging with this other corporation which has no status or relationship with the future College, as contemplated by the College Act.
